i) General Composure
- Maintain a pleasant, casual atmosphere. Be respectful and use common sense. Excessive swearing, rudeness and harassment is not tolerated.
- Try to maintain proper spelling and grammar.
- Do not spam.
- Do not link to any of the following:
- Objectionable material, which includes but is not limited to pornography, "shock sites", viruses, phishing sites and hate groups.
- Other websites or servers in a manner that constitutes advertising.
- Personal identifying information of other users.
- Do not encourage or partake in rule breaking on The Abyssal Gaming Network's services.
- Do not impersonate any member of the The Abyssal Gaming Network's staff, or claim to be a staff member.
- Report issues or bugs of The Abyssal Gaming Network's services to a member of staff (http://forum.abyssalgaming.com) exploitation of bugs for any reason other than to demonstrate at the request of a staff member will result in a punishment.
- Follow any directions given by a staff member. If you believe a staff member has directed you wrongly, please visit the staff issue. page.
ii) Website Behavior
- Do not make inflammatory posts. This includes posts aiming to insult another person, provoke another person into making inflammatory posts, hate speech, and anything resembling "inb4 flame war."
- Posts made should be relevant to the topic; irrelevant posts may be deleted.
- If you think a thread should be locked, submit a report by clicking on the 'Report Content' button instead of commenting it in the thread.
- Any image or post that does not pertain to the topic is subject to removal. Irrelevant image spam will be removed.
- Do not "bump" threads by posting something that does not contribute constructively to the thread.
- All personal issues must be dealt with in private. The public forums are not the place for personal conflicts.
- Intentionally lying in reports may result in an infraction.
iii) TeamSpeak Behavior
- Do not impersonate other players or staff members on teamspeak.
- Your TeamSpeak nickname should be your in-game name or some easily identified variation.
- No rude or vulgar nicknames.
- No harassing other users, this includes following them when they choose to move away from you.
- Do not mic spam, this is an immediatly bannable offence.
- Ranks are shown on TeamSpeak. Learn more about them on the Server Info page. Many of these are Paid ranks and others can be earned. DO NOT Attempt to add a group name into your nickname, it is not permitted!
- We have a custom bot operating in the background which will prevent most bad nicknames, so don't expect to get away with it for long.
- Keep discussion topics suitable to those in the channel. If you want to be a bit more mature, use another channel away from Children or anyone whom is offended. Please respect the wishes of others.
- While in Public channels, expect other users to join, the above rule applies even if someone joins the channel AFTER you do. If you would like more control, consider purchasing your own channel through the Web Store.
iv) Game Server(s) Behavior
- Do not send messages that encourage other players into leaving the server.
- Unless you are explaining the report process, you may not encourage others to report a specific player.
- Reports and Appeals are NOT Discussed on the server at ANY TIME. Do not attempt to start an argument or other conversation regarding these.
- Please do not publicly accuse any players of hacking. If you believe a player is hacking or breaking any rules report them!
- You may not use any form of in game chat to solicit. Any account that is determined to be for the sole use of soliciting will be permanently banned without warning.
- You may not link to, or solicit players to join, any server public or private that is not part of the The Abyssal Gaming Network in public chat. (You may use /msg command to inform players that request it).
- Your username must be appropriate, and you may be asked to use a different account if your username is found to be inappropriate. (This does not count as ban evasion unless otherwise stated.
- Players may not abuse glitches, nor discuss them with other members. If you find one, please disclose it, in private, to a member of staff.
v) Client-Side Modifications/Addons/Plugins
- Any client modifications that give an unfair advantage over vanilla Minecraft users are illegal while playing.
- The following modifications are explicitly permitted during gameplay:
- Optifine
- ArmorStatusHUD/StatusEffectHUD
- Toggle-crouch that does not allow crouching while typing, looking through inventory, or in any menus
- Texture packs that do not fall under any "explicitly prohibited" category
- Minimaps except as specified below
- The following modifications are explicitly prohibited during gameplay:
- Mods that expose or enlarge the name-tags of players
- Automatic tool selectors
- Minimaps that show entity positions, or show caves/underground.
- X-rays
- Auto-hitters
- Aimbots
- Fly mods
- Damage/Health Indicator
- SmartMoving
- Better Sprinting
- For any other mods, contact a member of staff for permission.
vi) Consequences of Negative Behavior
- Players may receive an in game warning or an infraction for breaking any of the rules above, depending on the severity of the violation.
- The severity of the infraction is usually based on the player's previous infractions.
- In particularly serious or blatant cases of rules violation, including but not limited to using a hacking client on the servers, or consistently griefing despite moderator intervention, will result in an immediate permanent ban, without warning.
- Players violating any TeamSpeak rules may be kicked or banned from the TeamSpeak server.
- Ban evasion is not permitted, and will result in a permanent ban for all alternate accounts associated with the evading player. The alternate accounts will not be unbanned once the original ban is expired.
- Persistent ban evasion will result in a permanent ban for all accounts.
- Players violating any forum rules may be banned from posting to the forums. If your ban stays for more than 7 days please contact a member of staff immediatly.
- Players with many warnings for the same rule may be temporarily banned without notice.
- Players violating the rules on any of The Abyssal Gaming Network's services, including the game servers, the forums, and Teamspeak, may be banned from any or all of the services.
- In game bans must be appealed by filing an appeal on the appeals page.
- Severe infractions will result in a network-wide ban until a successful appeal can be made.
- All warnings and jail sentences can be appealed via the standard appeal process. Appeals may take up to 24-48 Hours to be answered.
- Any player that knowingly gives false info in his or her appeal may be permanently banned.
vii) Miscellaneous Rules and Terms
- These rules are subject to change with notice.
- Players are responsible for keeping up with rule changes.
- There is a one week grace period for rule changes (Unless otherwise stated!)
- The Abyssal Gaming Network's Administration reserves the right to ban or unban any player from any The Abyssal Gaming Network's services for any reason without notice at their sole discretion.
